Peninsula Rent A Car is unable to offer one way hires and all our hires must be returned to base with the exception of the Whitianga Airport.
PERSONS WHO MAY DRIVE THE HIRED VEHICLE
The hired vehicle can only be driven by the persons named on the rental agreement. The drivers needs to be over 21 years and have a full drivers licence. This needs to be produced when collecting the car. If you have a licence that is not in english, an International Driving Permit is required as well as your licence. Remember that you must travel with it along with your current and valid driving license from home. You cannot use an International Driving Permit for commercial use. Although IDPs are usually valid for three years, you can only use an IDP for up to 12 months in New Zealand. You can only drive vehicles in New Zealand that your current and valid overseas license allows you to in your own country.
*Basic Insurance excess is $2500.00. This can be reduced to $1000 by the payment of $15.00/ Day
NB: All Diesel vehicles include 25cents Km rate applies to each Km once diesel vehicle leaves the station.
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT OPTIONS
On confirmation of your booking a non refundable 20% deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance is payable when you pick up the vehicle. A credit card is required for insurance and any payments incurred and not paid during the hire period ie. Traffic fines or Toll costs

INSURANCE
Our insurance excess is $2500 but payment of $15.00 a day reduces the insurance excess to $1000.00 Should you wish to know more about this, please either call Ashanti on 07 866 2226 or 0210393828
24 Hour Roadside Assistance
As part of our continuing endeavor to offer customers exceptional service we offer a Roadside Assistance Program.
If your vehicle experiences a breakdown due to a mechanical failure(excluding vehicles involved in an accident), roadside assistance will attend to rectify the mechanical fault that renders the vehicle immobile or unsafe to drive.
Where the vehicle cannot be repaired roadside, it it will be towed to the nearest Service Centre.
You must not allow anyone to service or repair the vehicle without our permission. NZ Roadside Assistance is a national* 24 hour, 365 days per year service.

NZRA will provide roadside assistance without cost to you for problems with the vehicle that were not your fault. Breakdown events that are deemed to be caused by driver negligence i.e. leaving lights on - locked keys etc..will be charged to the drivers credit or debit card over the phone to NZRA prior to dispatching service. NZRA will quote the costs to provide the required service before charging costs to a card. - Please be aware that credit card details may be taken as security until the vehicle fault is determined. NZRA uses a DPS merchant banking payment system and is PCI compliant.
- Your vehicle registration number.
- Your Rental Agreement Number.
- Your exact location.
- The vehicle make, model and colour.
- That your car was rented from Peninsula Rent a Car.
- A description of the problem.
- A contact telephone number, if available.

CANCELLATIONS
If you cancel you forfeit your deposit.We are happy to quote for extended hires, tell us what your needs are and we will try and make it happen. Just send us an email and we will get on to it.
