CAR COLLECTIONS
Peninsula Rent A Car is unable to offer one way hires and all our hires must be returned to base with the exception of the Whitianga Airport.
PERSONS WHO MAY DRIVE THE HIRED VEHICLE
The hired vehicle can only be driven by the persons named on the rental agreement. The drivers needs to be over 21 years and have a full drivers licence. This needs to be produced when collecting the car. If you have a licence that is not in english, an International Driving Permit is required as well as your licence. Remember that you must travel with it along with your current and valid driving license from home. You cannot use an International Driving Permit for commercial use. Although IDPs are usually valid for three years, you can only use an IDP for up to 12 months in New Zealand. You can only drive vehicles in New Zealand that your current and valid overseas license allows you to in your own country.
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT OPTIONS
On confirmation of your booking a non refundable 20% deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance is payable when you pick up the vehicle. A credit card is required for insurance and any payments incurred and not paid during the hire period ie. Traffic fines or Toll costs.

INSURANCE
All hires, include a standard insurance in the hire rate, but you can choose the level of insurance from standard to full cover $0 Bond $0 Excess.
1.Standard Car Rental Insurance.

2. Partial Car Rental Insurance.
$25.00 per day
Excess: $750.00
Bond: $500.00
3. Full Car Rental Insurance.
$45.00 per dayExcess: $0

24 Hour Roadside Assistance
As part of our continuing endeavor to offer customers exceptional service we offer a Roadside Assistance Program.
If your vehicle experiences a breakdown due to a mechanical failure(excluding vehicles involved in an accident), roadside assistance will attend to rectify the mechanical fault that renders the vehicle immobile or unsafe to drive.
Where the vehicle cannot be repaired roadside, it it will be towed to the nearest Service Centre.
You must not allow anyone to service or repair the vehicle without our permission. NZ Roadside Assistance is a national* 24 hour, 365 days per year service.

NZRA will provide roadside assistance without cost to you for problems with the vehicle that were not your fault. Breakdown events that are deemed to be caused by driver negligence i.e. leaving lights on - locked keys etc..will be charged to the drivers credit or debit card over the phone to NZRA prior to dispatching service. NZRA will quote the costs to provide the required service before charging costs to a card. - Please be aware that credit card details may be taken as security until the vehicle fault is determined. NZRA uses a DPS merchant banking payment system and is PCI compliant.
- Your vehicle registration number.
- Your Rental Agreement Number.
- Your exact location.
- The vehicle make, model and colour.
- That your car was rented from Peninsula Rent a Car.
- A description of the problem.
- A contact telephone number, if available.

CANCELLATIONS
Any cancellations you forfeit your deposit. Any late cancellation made within 48 hours of pick up or no show will not receive any refund. We are happy to quote for extended hires, tell us what your needs are and we will try and make it happen. Just send us an email and we will get on to it.

TERMS OF SHUTTLE SERVICE
Peninsula Rent A Car will try to transport you in accordance with the time and date of your specified booking, it does not guarantee it will be able to do so. Delays may happen for a range of reasons, including but not limited to traffic congestion, weather events etc.Peninsula Rent A Car excludes any financial liability (to the extent permitted by law) for any costs or expenses incurred by the customer as a result of failure to reach any destination or schedule on time. It is the customers’ responsibility when making a booking to allow adequate extra time for unforeseen delays.Customers are required to contact Peninsula Rent A Car within 5 minutes of their scheduled pick up time if their vehicle has not arrived.
Baggage must not be oversized, unless prior approval for carriage of oversized luggage has been arranged with Peninsula Rent A Car.Booking cancellations must be received 24 hours before the scheduled pick up time or the full booked price will be payable by the customer named on the booking. Failure to pay any overdue amount will result to the debt being passed to a debt collecting agency and will incur debt collecting costs. Bookings maybe cancelled by replying to your booking confirmation.All Peninsula Rent A Car vehicles and passenger Shuttles are Non smoking and alcohol free no alcohol can be consumed in vehicles.In the event a serious mess is made inside the shuttle a $250 cleaning and deodorising fee will be charged.Any abuse towards drivers verbal or physical will not be tolerated, Service will be terminated immediately.Complaints: All complaints regarding fare pricing or customer service should be made by requesting a complaint form all drivers have these available or by email at:info@peninsularentacar.co.nzSerious Complaints, or complaints of a criminal nature, should be reported to the NZ Police.Complaints can also be made to:N.Z Transport Agency Private Bag 106-602 Downtown, Auckland.
